The cement courtyard and asphalt driveways are all done and they look great! Now that it’s poured and we’re able to walk on it, we can see how big it is.
There’ll be plenty of room for our guests’ cars. And plenty of room for our kids to play on. The driveway to our garage goes back a fair amount so we can use it to park our RV. We are even running electrical to the location so we can keep our RV plugged in. Very cool!
One of the details that I inserted at the last minute was the aluminum edging. When I was looking at our old asphalt, I noticed how they were crumbling around the edges. Between plain old wear and tear, and the noxious weeds, the edges really seem to take a beating. So I did some research this time and found aluminum edging which is supposed to help keep a cleaner line and hopefully better structure. At about $7 per foot, it’s not terribly expensive either.
