The landscape walls just went up and I’m quite proud of them (and myself). Our landscape architect obviously provided overall guidance and made it happen, but I was able to put my mark on our landscape design.
We originally had a number of distinct hardscape elements. There was the primary landscape wall intended to separate the main house from the courtyard, and also to transition from one elevation to another. There was the walkup with a step mid-way to reduce the number of stairs off the front stoop. And finally there was the asphalt driveway that ran along the house.
My big contribution of which I’m so proud was to tie all three of these elements together. I kept staring at the initial diagram and realized that we extend the landscape wall to the driveway to make it a curb creating a cleaner separation between the driveway and house. I also realized that we could combine the step with the landscape wall simply by moving the step and ensuring the height was appropriate.
Now we need to get the pavers in place as well as some soil and landscaping. But in the meantime, I’m just going to enjoy this little landscape wall.
